We are Anglicans

Members of the Trinity family come from a variety of backgrounds (Anglican churches, other church denominations, and from no church background at all!) and you don’t need to be an Anglican to join our church family. Still, it can be helpful to clear what being Anglican means to us, and perhaps clear away some common misunderstandings.

Ministry Apprentices

In 2025, we started our Ministry Apprenticeship Scheme. Our first apprentices are Grace Phillips, Mackenzie Shewan, and Pam Walters.

Devotion

At Trinity, we are seeking to grow in love for Jesus. This starts with the gospel, and with understanding who we are in Christ. We know we love Jesus when we love the things Jesus loves. We know what Jesus loves because we find it in the Bible.

Enjoying the Father

However, while we might be God’s children, destined for eternal glory, in the mundane reality of daily life we often don’t feel like God’s children. How then do we enjoy the intimacy implied by this familial description?

The Heart of the Gospel

We can summarise the message of the New Testament as adoption through propitiation. Simply put, because the Son of God willingly became man and gave his life for us on the Cross, those who believe in him are no longer enemies of God, but are God's children:

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins … See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 4:10, 1 John 3:1)

Meditating of Scripture

So how do we humbly meditate on Scripture, in a way which lets it implant itself in us?
