We are Anglicans
Members of the Trinity family come from a variety of backgrounds (Anglican churches, other church denominations, and from no church background at all!) and you don’t need to be an Anglican to join our church family. Still, it can be helpful to clear what being Anglican means to us, and perhaps clear away some common misunderstandings.
Ministry Apprentices
In 2025, we started our Ministry Apprenticeship Scheme. Our first apprentices are Grace Phillips, Mackenzie Shewan, and Pam Walters.
Devotion
What does it mean to have a relationship with God? How do we grow as Christians? Why are Quiet Times so hard to persist with? Why does reading the Bible so often feel dry? What is, or should be, the point of studying the Bible? In a sense, the answer to all these questions lies in the concept of Devotion.
Upcoming Member Events
Good Friday
Join us at 10am on Good Friday for The Darkest Hour, a look at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Reflect and rejoice afterwards over morning tea and hot cross buns.
Easter Sunday
On Easter Sunday our services take place at the usual times. We’ll celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with the Lord’s supper. Stay after the service for tea and light refreshments (or, after the evening service a simple meal).
Christianity Explored
On 30 April we start our next Christianity Explored course. We will explore who Jesus is and what he came to do. Each session takes place on a Wednesday evening, and is an opportunity to ask questions in an informal setting.
Women's Weekend Away
At Trinity we have an annual Women’s Weekend Away, where we stay in holiday homes in Hanmer and grow in fellowship as we hear from God’s word. Bookings are open for this year’s weekend, which runs from Thursday 15th - Saturday 17th May. We will be looking at the book of Hebrews together.
Daytime Prayer Meeting
Our daytime Church wide prayer meeting will be held the 28th of May from 10:00-11:30 am. Come from 9:30 am for coffee. There is no need to pray out loud if you don’t feel comfortable doing so, but your presence and “Amen” will be of great encouragement to others. Please note that there will be no normal Fellowship groups this week.
Evening Prayer Meeting
Our evening Church wide prayer meeting will be held on the 28th of May from 7:30-9pm. There is no need to pray out loud if you don’t feel comfortable doing so, but your presence and “Amen” will be of great encouragement to others. Please note that there will be no normal Fellowship groups this week.
YAWA
Welcome back to another Young Adults Weekend Away! This year, our theme is spies. Prepare for a weekend of intrigue as we head once more to the STAC Castle Hill Lodge for Matariki weekend (Thursday 19th - Saturday 21st June).
Please let us know if you are interested in coming on this form.
Any questions, email youngadults@trinitysc.nz, or come ask a member of the Council (this year: Thomas McAven, Antonio Sidonio, Sarah Anthony, Jamie Hunt, Matthew Phillips).
